Posting as Psychobunny
Sorry about the paranoia that has led me to write under a pseudonym and the recent lack of posting. It's going to be weird to get used to doing this pseudonymously. I can't give out details anymore, because what if someone I work with or someone I want to work with sees them? And I've been busy. In the past few days I have (1) sent in my forms to become a student member of the top organization in my field, (2) committed myself to attending said organization's annual convention (yay, I'm finally going way out of the state!), and (3) applied to a great undergraduate research program for this summer.The research program would be awesome, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping they'll let me in. They pay for your transportation to Southern-Bordering State University, provide room and board, let you work in one of their research labs for eight weeks, and give you money (actually more than I earned last summer). And research experience = better chance of getting into Dream Grad School, which graduates a significant proportion of the professors in my field. I want it.
