Notes to self
- Next year, follow Dr. Way-Too-Generous and Dr. Candid Advice's lead and wait to buy your airfare to the Behavioral Science Association convention. Because getting a refund on the price difference really doesn't matter when the price difference is $26 and a $25 administrative fee applies to receive said refund. :) (Maybe the price will go down some more, enough to justify asking for a refund?)
- Continue to set up near the door of poster sessions if given a choice of where to present. Because I'm pretty sure being the first one the committee spoke to at Conference #2 is what won you that award, sweetie. (Yes! Cash from a faculty science organization. Well, a check, anyway. And I haven't technically received it yet.... But it sure does take the sting out of the whole pseudorefund thing.)
Edited to add:
- Don't write letters to the editor of the newspaper. Ever. [One of my professors is involved in a bogus lawsuit right now over something he wrote that was seemingly innocuous.]
