Little affirmations
At the end of last month, I applied for nine summer internships in the Land Where Geese Outnumber People. Because hiring started February 2, I was beginning to assume I wasn't a top candidate for any of them. This Wednesday, I got a call (from one of the internship opportunities that I had assumed my recommenders would get me very quickly excluded): was I available for a phone interview this Friday?The phone interview was an hour ago. I really thought I blew it. But fifteen minutes ago, I got another call from them: was I available for an in-person interview in two weeks?
Maybe I'm not so bad at this whole interviewing thing after all...

Congratulations! When I was an undergrad, I could never get cool internships during the summer, so I always had to work retail or something. Interships look much better on the resume than "cashier." :)
