Snow day
It may be spring break next week, but spring has clearly not yet arrived in Wasteland. I swear this place wasn't meant for human habitation. The university is notorious for not cancelling classes. This morning, the rest of Small Undergrad City was shut down, but not the university. Later, they cancelled classes for the next two days (this was, of course, after I had trekked through the snow to my 11:00 class :) ).
I was supposed to go to Largest City in Wasteland (about a 50-mile drive) today to visit my grandma in the hospital following her pacemaker operation. The trip clearly didn't happen. I went to Wal-Mart two days ago to get my prescription filled and they were already out of de-icer and snow shovels. (I know, I know... but at Wal-Mart my prescription only costs a quarter of what I would pay anywhere else. With no health insurance, you have to go where everything's cheapest.)
On a positive note, however, the extreme weather conditions have given me the opportunity to post a picture of myself on my blog and still maintain pseudonymity. Also, thanks to everyone for the internship well-wishes!
