So, updates...
On the applications front:- Last semester, I fell completely in love with a very popular area of psychology I had never previously considered studying, but to which most of my research experience indirectly applies. So I applied to three graduate programs in that specialty and wrote to the rest of the programs I had already had materials sent to that I would no longer be applying.
- My first rejection letter arrived Friday.
- I'm not as crushed as I had thought I'd be.
- Even though it was my first choice program.
- Because I can reapply next year in more geographically desirable places. I might get to (gasp!) leave the Midwest. Score. I hear California is lovely...
- My darn car is at the mechanic yet again. The rack-and-pinion system is broken. Cost: one week and $400+. And it's not finished yet.
And I'm living about 25 miles from school.
Which means that I've had to ride in at 6 AM with Guy Friday's parents when they go to work. It sucks rocks.
But I'm supposed to be working on the lit review for my honors thesis right now. So goodbye.

I know you don't get along all that well with your roomies, but wouldn't it be wiser to stay in your dorm room while your car is in the shop?

Actually? Not really. It's in the shop in Guy Friday's town and I need to check on it every day to see when it'll be done. So far, it hasn't moved.
Plus, it's so much easier to get things done when you aren't missing somebody to the point of distraction... :)
