Objectives achieved!
Objective 1: Find a job.I love my new job. It's pretty easy, but it keeps me busy. It has some of my favorite aspects from when I got to be a research assistant. And my coworkers are great.
Objective 2: Find an apartment.
My coworkers told me to go get the Ciudad del Agua local paper to look at the job listings for Guy Friday and at the apartments for us. And we found one! One bedroom, very small, but in a seemingly well-maintained building in an awesome little neighborhood that's only three blocks from the bank where I work. The owner of the building has it mostly as a place for his daughter to live and rents out the other three apartments for some extra cash. So the rent is cheap and the utilities are paid as a part of the deal, which is awesome. Guy Friday's little sister and her boyfriend are on housing assistance because of the baby on the way, and their share of the rent on an equivalent place is higher than our entire rent.
So, only two more weeks of the 60 mile daily commute, then we're off to live in Ciudad del Agua. Yay!
